6.1 Dative Case

For indirect objects, as well as for a number of special idiomatic constructions, Hindi uses a special form of the oblique case, called the dative case. The basic form of the dative case is just the oblique of the noun or pronoun followed by the postposition को (“to”).

Examples:

राम को to Ram
औरत को to the woman
मुझ को to me
उन को to them
मैं पैसे लड़के को देता हूँ। I give the money to the boy
